Niagara Glen - 2007_05_21

For the holiday Monday, Colin and I ventured off to the Niagara Glen for some relaxing, but yet frustrating, bouldering. We arrived just before 11, hiked down to the river and started the days event off at ‘Beyonce’ as Colin likes to call the problem. It seemed that every problem that we came to had either too many hand grips and no foot holds or the opposite with no hand grips and plenty foot holds. ‘Beyonce’ proved her worth and we then hiked back to ‘Soup With Spoons’. This particular problem can be looked at from many different angles, as Colin chose to move from right to left, and I chose to go straight up.

IMG_0907.JPGAfter a few choice words by Colin who just couldn’t reach that one hold, we hiked down to the river and had some lunch, followed by a return to ‘Soup With Spoons’. My feet were tired and sore from being crammed into my climbing shoes, so we hiked some more, only to reach yet another problem that proved its worth for Colin. Overall it was a great day…we had the most amazing weather, and I had the chance to take some amazing photos of the Niagara River and area. It’s one of my favourite places to go simply because you can easily get lost or lose half a day wandering. The view was amazing, the climbing and hiking was quite the exercise and the shoes were painful. Check out this site for more info on the Glen Bouldering.

  2. I will nail Beyonce on Monday. Thats a good sentence by the way. But I will. Soup With Spoons is definitely going down, and Beyonce just might as well… I can feel it.
